SEMA SOFTWARE VERSION 21 Test with Sentinel LDK Dongle

Innovations stairs

Automatic miter connection with post, punching with depth, end-face processing in cheeks, stile mortise in step.

SEMA version 21-2

Each version contains numerous innovations and improvements – we present the most important highlights of the new program version 21-2 here.

Design components in 3D

The free design in all 3D views as well as in vertical and horizontal sections in the roof area is constantly being further developed and supplemented. After purlins, rafters and clamps could already be created in the previous version (s), additional components such as hip rafters, valley rafters, planks and setting boards have now been added.

Stair components on a line
The new possibility of creating handrails, belts, stiles, panels and railings on CAD lines gives stair builders a high degree of freedom. With the new function “Component on line”, the input of board components becomes even more flexible.

As of the new version 21-2, these components can also be generated in the 3D representation and in the sections. The generation commands from the 2D representation have been completely adopted so that the same construction options are available in the 3D view. When entering data, great importance was attached to intuitive operation. The user is supported visually by an interactive preview.

The company X-fix developed innovative and special wood-wood connectors for solid wood construction. These have numerous advantages.

The X-fix C is a dovetail-shaped connector in the shape of a wedge and is used for the assembly of solid wood ceilings and wall elements. The advantage over conventional screw connections with butt boards is that the patented X-fix C geometry only clamps the elements together by hammering in the X-fix C parts in order to connect them positively and permanently.

For example, there is no need for time-consuming and often difficult clamping of CLT ceiling elements using panels – beam tension without any use of metal in the pure wood-wood connection. A static dimensioning of the X-fix C connector with an external tool from Stools is possible at any time free of charge. After registration, evidence of shearing, tension, and combined stress can be provided. X-fix L is a linear wood-wood connector specially designed for L, T, and longitudinal joints of cross-laminated timber walls. It consists of two dovetail-shaped, wedge-shaped coupling strips with a maximum length of 3 m.

The prefabricated millings of the walls to be connected are placed in relation to one another and part of the coupling strip is inserted from above. Then the second part is inserted and hammered in with a hammer for around 30 cm. And the connection is ready!  X-fix L connectors can be assembled very quickly. Since the assembly is carried out from the inside of the building, no external scaffolding is required.
