GIS History

The applications made in the field of GIS and the beginning of GIS were firstly Charles Picquet’s mapping of the cholera epidemic in the 48 districts of Paris in 1832, and then, in 1854, the British Doctor John Snow created a map on the same principle to show the increasing deaths due to cholera in London, and spatially determined the epidemic. It is in the form of identifying the source and preventing the problem.

The concept of GIS was first introduced in the early 1960s and was researched and developed as a new discipline in the following years. Roger Tomlinson was commissioned by the Canadian government to create a manageable inventory of natural resources.

He considered using computers to combine all Canada’s natural resource data and created the automated computing system to store and process large volumes of data that prompted Canada’s national land-use management program to begin.

What is Project Management?

TechnoGIS Verditech

Project management has limited final outputs with a limited timeline and budget. Projects can range from simple to complex and can be managed by one or a hundred people. Projects are usually defined and authorized by a manager. It’s up to the team to meet my managers’ expectations and goals, manage logistics, and execute the project on time.

Sometimes deadlines or a time limit may be given. For good project productivity, some teams divide the project into individual tasks so they can manage accountability and leverage the team’s strengths. Thus, project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.
